Jacket Card

Hello crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Hope we are all keeping warm, the weather has been really cold and sometimes it seems like the heaters in the house decided to go on vacation. Anyway on to today's project.

This is a card I made for a special young man whose birthday is coming soon. It's a jacket card. Instruction on how to make this card can be found HERE.

I decided to go with a white jacket using my white card stock. I didn't want the jacket to be plain so I used my embossing tool to draw some diagonal score lines to give it some pattern. The green design paper used for the dress shirt and handkerchief is from Create with TLC.

I then stitched around the collar, button hole and pocket and embellished with a pocket watch.

I will be submitting this card for the following challenge:
Make It Monday - Anything Goes

Now onto my second card:

This card is similar to the card for White and Red Christmas Post except that I used green. The card isn't finished, am yet to add my sentiment (thought I share it anyway). The digi image, Vintage Bringing Gifts, is from Create with TLC. I changed the color using Microsoft Word.

The flower was handmade.

Until next time, happy crafting.

White and Red Christmas

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas,
just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten,
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.

I have been singing this song for a while now and hopefully we will have a white Christmas this year. The card I will be sharing today is a white card with a dash of red and green and I was inspired by the challenge at Totally Tilda Blog (which is white Christmas).

This card is a rocking card onto which I adhered a white paper doily. The image is a pre-colored digi image which I matted and layered onto a top note template cut-out. The rose flower was handmade (instructions can be found HERE) using hand cut scalloped circle.

The sentiment says "The Advent Epidemic. Warning: BE on the alert for symptoms of inner HOPE, PEACE, LOVE and JOY" and this is from Create with TLC. I love this sentiment.

I will be entering this card for the following challenges:
One Stitch At A Time - Use A Digi
Aud Sentiments - Winter Holiday Sentiments
Polka Doodles - Quick Christmas card

HOW TO CUT A SCALLOP CIRCLE WITHOUT A PUNCH OR DIE CUT

To start you will need a square piece of card stock (mine measures 10cm by 10cm). Remember the bigger/smaller the paper the bigger/smaller the scallop circle. For the flower above the card stock I used measured 8cm by 8cm.

Fold the card stock into half.

And then fold into a quarter.

Then fold again corner to corner giving it a nice firm crease.

With the closed point towards you, draw an arc with a pencil.

Using your scissors cut along the arc.

Then unfold you cardstock to reveal the scallop circle.

Until next time, happy crafting. God bless.

Wishing You A Merry Christmas

Ho Ho Ho crafty friends and welcome. The card I will be sharing is a square easel card (6 inches * 6 inches) and its based on the sketch from Mojo Monday

The backing papers are from Bearly Mine Design Xmas freebies.

I love the words on the topper and it reads "May your Christmas tree be a heavy one, but your heart a light one, and every gift the right one on this Christmas day". This is from Create with TLC.

I inserted it into Microsoft Word and edited the color so it could match the colors I used on the card. The Christmas tree is also a free download which I then embellished with red shimmer dots.

I will be entering this card for the following challenges:

One Stitch At A Time - Be Square
Joanna Sheen - Christmas Wishes
Aud Sentiments - Winter Holiday Sentiments

That's all for today until next time, happy crafting.

Hello everyone and Tis the season to be jolly Fa la la la la la la. I have been singing this song for the past couple of days and I can't wait for Christmas to be here. The card I will be sharing today is a Christmas card (no surprise there) and is based on the sketch from Mojo Monday.

Since its the last Monday of the month, the challenge is to make either a circle or a square card using the above sketch or you can substitute with any shape you have.

Here's my take on the sketch:

I used the sketch to make a circular topper for my tent topper card. Instructions on how to make this card can be found at SSC.

The red backing paper is a download from Pixie's Dust, the green backing paper is from Create with TLC.

The Christmas tree and poinsettia flower are also free downloads which I then layered and decoupaged. I can't remember where I got the Christmas worded backing paper.
