Deck the Halls

Hello everyone and Tis the season to be jolly Fa la la la la la la. I have been singing this song for the past couple of days and I can't wait for Christmas to be here. The card I will be sharing today is a Christmas card (no surprise there) and is based on the sketch from Mojo Monday.

Since its the last Monday of the month, the challenge is to make either a circle or a square card using the above sketch or you can substitute with any shape you have.

Here's my take on the sketch:

I used the sketch to make a circular topper for my tent topper card. Instructions on how to make this card can be found at SSC.

The red backing paper is a download from Pixie's Dust, the green backing paper is from Create with TLC.

The Christmas tree and poinsettia flower are also free downloads which I then layered and decoupaged. I can't remember where I got the Christmas worded backing paper.

I will be entering this card for the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion - Tis the Season
One Stitch At A Time - Seeing Red
C.R.A.F.T Challenge - Unusual Christmas

Star in the East

"Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem, asking, Where is He Who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east at its rising and have come to worship Him." Matthew 2 : 1 - 2.

Hello everyone and welcome. Hope we are all snuggled up and keeping warm as the weather gets colder and colder. Today I will be sharing an interesting card called the Star fold card.

I came across the tutorial (here) on how to fold this card a couple of days ago and decided to give it a shot. I think it turned out nice. The DP used for this project is a free download from Card making and Paper Craft. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

The flower used was handmade using the Tim Holtz Tattered Flower Die, which I then glittered up using the Star Dust Stickles and added a bead to the centre of the flower.

Inside the card is a pyramid decoupage image of Jesus in the Manger with His Parents.

I will be entering this card for the following challenges:

Thanksgiving

Hello everyone and welcome. I hope you are enjoying the relatively warm November weather. Today's card is a black and white thanksgiving card. It is based on the sketch from Sketch Saturday.

This week's challenge is sponsored by Simon says Stamp.

Once you have had a look at my card head on over to Sketch Saturday and have a look at the gorgeous cards made by the DT.

The topper is the lyrics to one of my favourite thanksgiving hymn titled We Plough the Fields and Scatter. Its a hymn thanking and appreciating God for everything He has done for us.

The flowers were handmade using ribbon for wrapping gifts, on which I then adhered black beads to the center. I weaved the DP on the lower right hand card of the card. The black DP is from pixie dust.

I will be entering this card for the following challenge:
One Stitch At A Time - Black and White

I then used the Holly Frame from Create with TLC as frame for the picture of Jesus in the manger. The poinsettia flowers were handmade. The sentiment which says HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS is also from Create with TLC.

Celebrating Love

Hello everyone and good evening.

" Love is patient, Love is kind,
It does not envy, it does not boast, It is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,
It keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in truth.
It always protects, always trust, always hope, always perseveres.
Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Rejoice

Hello once again. Sketch Saturday have a wonderful challenge for this week in which the winner receives a pack of 6 Flex markers. Below is the sketch.

Here's my take on the challenge:

Its is fall card depicting the loss of leaves experienced during the season. This card reminds of the verse in Habakkuk 3:17 - 18 which says,

" Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vine
though the olive crop fails
and the field produce no food
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord,
I will be joyful in God my Savior."

I will be entering this card in the following challenge:

Until next time, happy crafting.

The topper is a picture from an old Xmas card I bought a couple of years ago, which is matted and layered onto the backing paper. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

The bow was hand made using the same backing paper and ribbon was matted on top of it.
